Latest KDE 4.4.4 from Sid has a new network panel monitor. Cute icon but I use
knemo which is much more useful. Additionally, it fills my logs with abortive
tries to a modem manager and other unnecessities.

Until this becomes better, maybe combine with knemo!, how do I get rid of it?
