Default KDE 4.4.1 - Plasma Weather Applet broken

Hi,
the weather applet seams to be broken with KDE 4.4.1. On one PC it works, on
the other it doesn't. I have no clue whatsoever is causing this issue. TCPdump
is reporting no traffic of any kind when I try so search for a city, so I assume
something is wrong here. One hint could be that on the PC where this doesn't
work IPv6 is enabled, but I'm unable to trace this any further.

Can anyone help me to debug this issue?

Which (weather) provider do you use? Did you try another one?

I found something similar:

https://bugs.kde.org/230429

Please add to or report a new bug and relate to my bug in the KDE upstream
bugtracker.

I've tried each available provider listed there. No one works.

A KDE user added a hint that worked for me:

------- Comment #2 From x545 2010-03-28 01:35:10 -------
I made a startling discovery: when I kill kded4 the applet immediately
shows
the weather. Maybe there is some kind of race?

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=230429#c2

I was able to find Nürnberg, Germany, via wetter.com now.

I've had the same problem on Fedora 12 and Ubuntu 9.10.* Not just
Debian.* A recent upgrade to 4.4.1 on Fedora 12 has fixed this.* Looks

like it's not just Debian.

Well that "work-around" has unpleasant side effects: KMail asks for
accepting SSL certificates on every attempt to receive or send mail. I know
my self-signed SSL certs need updating, but usually it remembered to use
it anyway. When I logout and login again, the wearther applet still has
Nürnberg, Germany from wetter.com in its configuration, but it is not able
to connect. Timeout.

Hmmm, I am still experiencing this with plasma-widgets-addons
4:4.4.2-0rc1. Did Fedora developers apply some patch? Could you have a
peek in the package changelog?

plasma-widget-yawp might be an alternative, but it needs a recompile and I
wonder about libweather-ion4 which seems to be a part of kdebase-workspace
source package but is not compiled for KDE 4.4.2 packages. Has it been
dropped upstream?

Uhhmm... don't know about that but I found this...

http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/package-announce/2010-March/037465.html

* Various fixes in Plasmawidgets and other addons, such as the analog clock and the picture frame

Anyone else know about this ?

I'm using this plasma weather
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Customizable%20Weather%20Plasmoid%20%28CWP%29?cont ent=98925
on Squeeze and Sid and it work perfect.

Besides that it is the best weather plasma I used.
I am from Croatia and don't have problems.
