It fails when building with -us -uc -tc, due to a patch failing to
unapply post build (see attached log) !?

This looks like a regression in dpkg-dev that is already reported [1]
and fixed in git [2] (thanks, Thomas!).

Nevertheless, I reworked the problematic patch so that it doesn't delete
any files[3], the build failure should be gone with latest master.
