Default Request to join pkg-java on alioth

Hello everyone,

I would like to join the Java packaging team in debian to help improve
the state of packages and start my way to become a official debian
maintainer. I currently am maintaining the pauker package [0], a Java
application and will add that to the alioth project.

I am an Ubuntu MOTU [1] and have some experience in packaging for
debian, I'll be glad to share my knowledge and hope to learn something
new along the way.

My alioth username is amoog-guest (Do I have to apply to the team on
alioth too or is it automagic?)

Thanks for considering,

Andreas

Hi

Out of pure curiosity, are there other Java packages or Java related
task[1] that you would like to work on?

[1] E.g. one of these http://wiki.debian.org/DebianJavaReleaseGoals

Please apply there separately (it makes your username show up in a list).

There is no specific goal I want to help with at this time but some of
those Goals look like a good start to contribute. Bug triage is another
area that tends to need a lot of work so I'll have a look into that, too.

Andreas,
I would be incredibly grateful if you could figure out how to bring
maven-ant-tasks up to date. I have no interest in java packaging per se,
only in particular products that just happen to be written in java. I
tried to get this one upto scratch but there is really only so much
effort one can put into things on the periphery of ones interest.
