Default RFS: enforcer - Maven build rule execution framework

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "enforcer".

* Package name : enforcer
Version : 1.0~beta2-1
Upstream Author : Brian Fox <brianf@apache.org>
* URL : http://maven.apache.org/enforcer/
* License : Apache Software License 2.0
Section : java

It builds these binary packages:
libenforcer-java - Maven build rule execution framework

The package is lintian clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 570673 (ITP)

My motivation for maintaining this package is: it's a dependency of
another software I'm packaging.

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/e/enforcer/enforcer_1.0~beta2-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone review and possibly uploaded this package for me.

Kind regards
Gabriele Giacone

Hello Gabriele,

Your package looks good.

A little note about the license for the debian/* files: you set the
license to GPL-3 (actually, mh_make did that for you). It's considered
maybe best practice to use the same license for the Debian packaging as
for the main package, so here Apache 2 may have been a better choice.
But of course, you are the packager, so the choice is yours.

I will update mh_make to work more like this when it can find the
license in the upstream project.

I'm not a DD, so you still need a sponsor!

Cheers,
Ludovic

Hi Gabriele,

which vcs repo do you use? You should commit the code either to our
svn or git repo because you have set the Maintainer to pkg-java.

Cheers,
Torsten

- From d/control

Vcs-Git: git://git.debian.org/pkg-java/enforcer.git
Vcs-Browser: http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-java/enforcer.git

At the moment, I've some doubts about package names. It's a Maven plugin
so maybe libmaven-enforcer-plugin-java would be better than
libenforcer-java.

Cheers,
Gabriele

Correct me if I'm wrong, debian/ under upstream license could be good
when forwarding patches to upstream to keep the same license.
Changed debian/ to ASL 2.0 even because it's a "public package" and
there may be different points of view.

yes that would be more consistent with other packages. Do you want to
change the name?

Cheers,
Torsten
