Bug#631627: gcc-defaults version 4:4.4.5-1 non-functional on Wheezy (missing libgcc_s.so)
Package: gcc
Version: 4:4.6.0-5 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Here's a simple test program <<EOF int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { return 0; } EOF $ gcc -o main main.c /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgcc_s collect2: ld returned 1 exit status The versions of gcc/c++ in testing (4:4.6.0-5), work fine, and I would use them if it were not for "g++-4.6.0-10 miscompilation" http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=630441 -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.39-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_IE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_IE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gcc depends on: ii cpp 4:4.6.0-5 The GNU C preprocessor (cpp) ii gcc-4.6 4.6.0-10 The GNU C compiler Versions of packages gcc recommends: ii libc6-dev [libc-dev] 2.13-7 Embedded GNU C Library: Developmen Versions of packages gcc suggests: ii autoconf 2.68-1 automatic configure script builder pn automake1.9 <none> (no description available) ii bison 1:2.4.1.dfsg-3 A parser generator that is compati ii flex 2.5.35-10 A fast lexical analyzer generator. pn gcc-doc <none> (no description available) pn gcc-multilib <none> (no description available) ii gdb 7.2-1 The GNU Debugger ii libtool 2.4-2 Generic library support script ii make 3.81-8.1 An utility for Directing compilati ii manpages-dev 3.28-1 Manual pages about using GNU/Linux -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-gcc-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
