Default Upcoming dpkg string changes

Hi!

As mentioned in the 1.16.3 upload mail, I've some pending changes
affecting original strings, and will be using the opportunity to do
some cleanups given that I'm touching them anyway. As such I'd
recommend holding off any translations for now, to avoid useless
work, also in case there's some later rectifications for example.
I'll send another mail once it seems safe to restart translation
work.

The things I've either pending locally or which I'll be working on in
the coming days are mostly --help output and error strings, for the
later I'll probably send a patch series to the list for review by
native speakers and translators.

I'm explicitly CCing Helge and Sven, because you are pretty reactive
to code changes, so to make sure you know what's going on.

thanks,
guillem

While updating the German translation, I noticed a few typos which I
did not correct myself as I'm not sure if you want to coordinate that
somehow:
dpkg-buildpackage.pl
- -z<level> compression level to use fo source.
+ -z<level> compression level to use for source.

dpkg-deb.1
-building a package (since dpkg 1.16.2). Allowed value are fInonefP (since
+building a package (since dpkg 1.16.2). Allowed values are fInonefP (since

And a minor improvement:
dpkg-gensymbols.1
the File::Glob manual page for details) in fIlibrary-filefR to match
the fIFile::Glob(3perl)fR manual page for details) in fIlibrary-filefR to match

Greetings

Helge

If this is fixed in the original text, the PO files should be fixed as
well to prevent fuzzying strings for nothing:

for i in *po; do sed -i 's/use fo sour/use for sour/g' ; done

Default Upcoming dpkg string changes

Hi!

First of all, sorry for the late changes, as mentioned on the upload
announce I've been tied up with other stufff, and then it made sense
to let the previous version migrate. In any case after the freeze
starts later today, I'll declare master frozen for now and no more
changes should go there, which should allow to work on translations
w/o being disturbed, will send a call for translators then too.

Thanks! Both applied locally and translation strings updated,
targetting the upload before the freeze.

Hmm, the problem is that I'm not sure how portable is the assumption
that perl man pages will be on the 3perl section. I've left this out
for now.

thanks,
guillem
