Default dpkg-query info

Hi,

Is there a way to find out when a package was installed?

I didn't see any options for --showformat, but I might have missed it.

I'm trying to find all the pkgs added to my Ubuntu system since
installing it from CD.

TIA.

That information isn't explicitly stored anywhere, AFAIK. I suspect the
best that you can do is to look at the mtimes of the
/var/lib/dpkg/info/<packagename>.list files which ought to be a
reasonable guide of when the package was last installed or upgraded.

Max.

Or you can read /var/log/dpkg.log or /var/log/aptitude...

But debian-dpkg@l.d.o is not the right list for such user support questions.
Please use debian-user@lists.debian.org next time.

Thanks for the info.
I'll post to correct list next time.

TIA.
