Either you do proper bug reports or you stop sending these things to
debian-devel@.
The proper bug reports you are planning to do; do not send them to
debian-devel@, they will get here if needed be. Send them straight to the
bug tracker.

Thanks!

I was always under the impression it was worth checking with others before raising a bug, and keeping
the volume of bug request down.
I joined the list as I wanted to contribute something albeit regarded as a waste.
Maybe best to unsubscribe

You missed my point with doing "proper bug reports". This is a good read
on the topic: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html

Discussing issues are great and all but you should direct the discussion
to the appropriate list. In some cases d-devel@l.d.o is the correct list
in most cases you can narrow it down to one of the lists specific topics
like d-boot@l.d.o for debian installer.

Then you read my message completely wrong and I encourage you to reread it.

That's your decision, do not try to put blame on me for this.

It is, not on debian-devel though.

debian-devel

- Development of Debian, Discussion about technical development topics.

You meant right but in the wrong place. debian-boot is better suited for
that. I recommend reading [0][1].

Debian-devel might indeed not be what you were after.

[0] http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/
[1] http://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/Today

P.S. I know that debian-boot is not necessarily intuitive name.
