Default Bug#634847: ITP: xul-ext-dactyl -- keyboard-accessible user interfaces for XUL-based applications

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Michael Schutte <michi@debian.org>

[Cc-ing pkg-mozext-maintainers, whom I’d like to join for packaging
this, and Vimperator maintainer Francois Marier]

* Package name : dactyl
Version : 1.0~b6.1
Upstream Author : Doug Kearns <dougkearns@gmail.com>,
Kris Maglione <maglione.k@gmail.com>,

* URL : http://dactyl.sourceforge.net/

Programming Lang: JavaScript (XUL)
Description : keyboard-accessible user interfaces for XUL-based applications

The Dactyl project offers Vim-inspired, keyboard-accessible user
interfaces for Iceweasel/Firefox (Pentadactyl), Icedove/Thunderbird
(Teledactyl), and Songbird (Melodactyl). It allows to navigate these
applications with sensible key bindings instead of the mouse.

Initially, only a xul-ext-pentadactyl binary will be provided, since the
other two extensions are still in a pre-alpha stage.

This is a fork of the Vimperator extension (which is already in Debian),
but as Vimperator is moving on [1] and Pentadactyl appears to retain its
“classic” appearance and behavior, it makes sense to offer this choice.
