Hi,

please be aware that I'm planning on orphaning ZooKeeper in the next days. The
reasoning behind that will shortly be available as a video or slides[1] of my
talk at BerlinBuzzWords. - In short: The code quality is of such a kind that I
don't consider it good enough for Debian.
I just have to learn how orphaning works.

Thomas thats an interesting read and I understand you've been struggling
with Zookeeper for a while. The PMD stats are indeed a bit frustrating,
as really what PMD records is technical debt, and ZK has quite a bit of
debt built up.

We've built a rather interesting service orchestration, called
Ensemble[1], on top of Zookeeper, and would be very interested in
adopting its maintenance in Debian.
