As I work with teachers, and have to provide them this kind of
application, I have a curiosity, do you have (or know of) a features
comparison between canorus, noteedit & mscore[1]?

No, I don't know of such a comparison. I wasn't aware of mscore, so I
cannot say anything about that program. Concerning canorus and
noteedit, the latter has been developed until recently and certainly is
more feature complete than canorus. However, the developers of noteedit
noticed some shortcomings of the codebase and therefore started this
new project in 2006. The current roadmap is to be as feature complete
as noteedit by the end of 2008.
