It’s probably the fontconfig monitor, checking
whether /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts appears, since this directory is
referenced in fonts.conf.
Of course it’s not expected to do that every 2 seconds, it should only
do it upon startup.

it is FHS, but it is optional.
