The File Catalog (or Replica Catalog) maps between the Logical File Name
and the Storage URL (or URLs) for files managed by a computational grid.

The LCG (LHC (Large Hydron Collider) Computing Grid) File Catalog (LFC)
allows to store files in a File System like structure. It allows
you to create symbolic links to any file or directory stored in the LFC,
as well as replicas.
