has caused the Debian Bug report #278246,
regarding Cyrillic letters are displayed as double-width in most places
to be marked as done.

This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with.
If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the
Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith.

Yes. Just for web archive search people:

This happens if application's default fonts uses Japanese or Chinese
fonts over ones provided by European font sets.

It is certainly user problem and we should have FAQ somewhere...
