Don't do such things, it might break your system.
The problem is, that your gcc is to old. You can see the symbols of your
libstdc++ with
$:~> nm -D /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.8 | grep GLIBCXX
00000000 A GLIBCXX_3.4
00000000 A GLIBCXX_3.4.1
00000000 A GLIBCXX_3.4.2
00000000 A GLIBCXX_3.4.3
00000000 A GLIBCXX_3.4.4
00000000 A GLIBCXX_3.4.5
00000000 A GLIBCXX_3.4.6
00000000 A GLIBCXX_3.4.7
00000000 A GLIBCXX_3.4.8
You need at least a libstdc++.so.6.0.9 that comes with gcc 4.2.x which
is part of CRUX 2.4. An update of your system to CRUX 2.4 should work
without big issues, but keep in mind that 2.7 is current and your system
is around 4 years old. [1]
Updating from 2.3 to 2.7 will _not_ work without manual work and you
have to expect greater problems.
I'd suggest to follow Jose's advice and try to recompile the application
in question on your system.
