QEMU should be able to emulate SPARC CPUs.

Thank you for your reply. I tried to have it, as the following:
#yum install QEMU
But it didn't get through. Can you please let me know why?

There is a qemu in the extras repo, but I don't know if it emulates SPARC.

You could maybe give a try to the version in EPEL by installing this
repo (just an idea, I did not try):

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL/FAQ#howtouse
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5/i386/repoview/letter_q.group.html

$ yum list qemu*
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
Available Packages
qemu.i386 2:0.10.5-1.el5.2 epel
qemu-common.i386 2:0.10.5-1.el5.2 epel
qemu-img.i386 2:0.10.5-1.el5.2 epel
qemu-system-arm.i386 2:0.10.5-1.el5.2 epel
qemu-system-cris.i386 2:0.10.5-1.el5.2 epel
qemu-system-m68k.i386 2:0.10.5-1.el5.2 epel
qemu-system-mips.i386 2:0.10.5-1.el5.2 epel
qemu-system-ppc.i386 2:0.10.5-1.el5.2 epel
qemu-system-sh4.i386 2:0.10.5-1.el5.2 epel
qemu-system-sparc.i386 2:0.10.5-1.el5.2 epel
qemu-system-x86.i386 2:0.10.5-1.el5.2 epel
qemu-user.i386 2:0.10.5-1.el5.2 epel

So you may try:
yum install qemu-system-sparc

Thank you for your reply. I tried for your proposed procedure but it didn't get through. So I tried to download the qemu rpm package but unfortunately the downloaded one just supports various Intel processors. Can you please let me know which qemu rpm package do support for UltraSPARC platform?

Has this grown to the stage where it's capable of running a full OS such
as Solaris? I have a silly desire to reboot an old SunOS 4.1.3_U1 backup
I have from 9 years ago :-)
