The Debian Way ™ is to rotate the building around your suspended desk or
laptop, while remaining on the floor. Since we are running Ubuntu, the
physics problem is trivially overcome...
sudo dpkg-reconfigure gravitation

For larger than average laptops, here some info about one that I am
(occasionally) involved with. You'd need a pretty big lap for this one:

Ah! I like that. I had thought to always put a request not to top-post
upside-down, but having Clippy do it is so much better!
