Are there any known issues with the latest Kernel on CentOS 6.2? I
performed a yum update and the kernel downloaded. When the system
rebooted I started having intermittent latency issues when trying to
perform certain commands on the system such as top or ls -ltr, etc. I
was having extreme latency getting to root. I am unsure if there is a
hardware compat issue but I found my server in kernel PANIC mode the
next day and was unable to login entirely. Has this been reported before?

CentOS 6.2 New Kernel Issues
Tetsuo,
This resolves the issue. Booting using an earlier version of the kernel
allows my system to be stable. So it seems like the new kernel is not
working with my hardware? Is this a normal occurrence sometimes? Should
I be collecting information to write it up as a bug report, or am I
screwed with that version of the kernel?
Thanks so much for your help btw Tetsuo.

Please do write the bug report.

This question should be directed to the users list -
http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos
This is not a support list.
If you identify a bug please do file a report.

Please tell us which kernel (uname -r) you're experiencing problems on and
which the latest kernel you know to be good is. A short description of your
hardware would also be nice.

But not on _this_ mailing list, please. This m/l is for the
development of the CentOS Project. For support issues, the general m/l
[1] will be appropriate.
Alan.

It was certainly my intention to reply _only_ to the main ml, the -dev cc was
a mistake.
