fontconfig: 99pdftoopvp.conf
 

i've read in announcements and arch-dev-public that /etc/fonts/conf.d is
supposed to contain only links now.


being lazy i used "pacman -Sy --force fontconfig" instead of manually
deleting the existing files, and i find that the package 99pdftoopvp.conf
remains as a real file. i found that it belongs to cups-filters, which
installs it into /etc/fonts/conf.d directly, apparently.


am i supposed to do anything about this, or just leave it there?

Leave it there. In that directory will probably sit more files owned
by other (font) packages. Don't mess with them!

I wasn't lazy and followed the guidelines ;-) But I also noticed that
99pdftoopvp.conf was sitting in /etc/fonts/conf.d/ without being a simlink.
The file belongs to cups-filters [extra] and I assume upstream is not
following the guidelines: put the file in /etc/fonts/conf.avail/ and than
simlink to conf.d when required.
