It looks like the executable is still at version 5.05. I don't know
if it's a packaging or upstream bug:

$ pacman -Q file
file 5.06-1
$ file --version
file-5.05
magic file from /usr/share/file/magic

Upstream issue. They did not update their patchlevel file.
