Hi

I can't play AVI from a DVD, resp. only Iceweasel can play the AVI, by
using the Windows media player plug-in and that's fine without
win64codecs. If I try to fast-forward it crashes, that's why I installed
win64codecs, thinking it would enable the mplayer and xine based media
players to play AVI, but they won't.

Can anybody help?

Cheers,
Ralf

Easiest would be to install VLC player from the debian etch
repositories. It plays avi, flv, DVD etc.

Enjoy!
Quentin

Hi Quentin

I just wanted to shut down, while your email comes in. Hm? VLC is one of
the media players I'm still using and it won't play the AVI that the
Icedove Windows media play can play. Maybe it's a bug of Lenny. I can
try a downgrade, but I think there's something missing or is it just the
win64codecs package that is needed?

Thanx .

I will go off-line now.

Cheers,
Ralf
