FFADO is going into beta. You can have both freebob and ffado running side by side. You select what backend to use through Jack. I think it is worth putting ffado in the test repository, it is really something else compared to freebob.

Yes we do plan upgrading from freebob to ffado, but not for the 2.1
release, as the upstream author still suggests sticking to freebob.
Upgrading the kernel is also not something that will happen in 2.1

Qt 4.3 is available in the backports repo:
