I can't reproduce this with the current testing branch. It may have been
introduced by the upgrade of GTK+ required for Gimp 2.4, which has since
been reverted. More test reports on this would be welcome.

I've been using the backported gnome-2.18.3 and it works fine for me!

I'll do a reinstall of 2.0 and update again to 2.1 Pre9 to see how it
behaves.

Results in the next two days or so (given time constraints)
