Will we see a newer kernel to solve these issues? It looks as if we have
still some time on testing as the 2.1 tickets are still too many, and we
have some blockers (like this one)

Ingo is already on 2.6.24, thus 2.6.23 should be ok?

Comment:

The problem has only been reported on two machines so far. Both had VIA
mainboard chipsets and an RTL 8139 network card. Downgrading the severity
to 'major' rather than 'blocker'.
