2.6.28 vanilla kernel has good RT capabilities according to a report on
LinuxMusicians' forums.

Of all the kernels Free built so far the 2.6.26-multimedia is the most
stable, but 2.6.28 is showing a lot of promise... If we can get a stable
2.6.28 for the 3.0 beta is would be nice - the 26 is ready to go if this
is not possible,

Comment:

Included kernel 2.6.29-rc4-rt2 in the master build. According to the tests
it seems to behave better than the 2.6.26. I'm closing this ticket for
now, and going to release 64 Studio 3.0-beta1 to get some more feedback
about this new 2.6.29.
